What is flugtag record?

Flugtag is a human-powered flight competition where teams design and build their own aircraft and launch them off a ramp, attempting to fly for as long as possible before crashing into the water below. There have been many records set throughout the history of Flugtag, including the farthest flight (258 feet by the Chicken Whisperers team in 2013) and the longest flight time (37.6 seconds by the Red Bull 5 Alive team in 2010). The current world record for the longest flight distance in a Flugtag competition is 258 feet, set by the Chicken Whisperers team in Long Beach, California in 2013. However, the overall Flugtag record is held by the German team "Die Rückkehr der Teichfighter," who in 2012 flew their aircraft powered by a multi-person bicycle and a set of wings to a distance of 280 feet.
